Hey my lovelies! Long time no see! Guess what… I’m back for the summer which means I’ve finished another year of university, only one more left to go…I know scary times! I’d love to say I’m back for good but unfortunately that won’t be the case I’ll be here all of summer but come September I’ll have to leave you all again. It’s the only way I can juggle this blog and my degree especially coming up to my final year I’ll have at least double the work load than I’m used to and it’s going to be a major step in terms of gaining a solid career at the other end.

So other than uni what else have I been up to? Well since Christmas you saw me post a little bit through January and in that time I managed to see my friend Ellie who is currently at uni in London so I rarely see her anymore and fingers crossed I’ll be seeing her in June too before she moves to Bristol for a year on placement. When we saw each other we did a bit of shopping as well as another Breakout room, these have become a little tradition between us and we still find them just as fun, if any of you haven’t tried them honestly do, it’s so fun.

In January I also bought my first pair of Adidas Stan Smith’s, I’ve been wanting a pair for ages and I can’t really put my finger on why but I paid homage to my parrot with these shoes and yes they crippled my foot when I first wore them but they are worth the pain. I also received my first ever VoxBox from Influenster UK, I did a little post about the goodies I bought which I’ve linked here. And finally I had another little trip to Wigan to meet some of Lewis’ extended family for his nanas birthday party which was lovely.

Moving into February I broke my bank account a little bit and had a huge spurge on Cult Beauty and Beauty Bay which I never did a post on but the items I bought will definitely be coming up in tutorials soon! I finally set up my own Illustration/Graphic Design instagram account which took a lot of courage as I felt no one would be interested and it’s been lovely to see you absolute babes on here following that account too! I’ll leave a link to that account here if you want to see what other stuff I get up too creatively.

Me and Lewis took a trip to Liverpool to celebrate Valentines day but we were caught with a bit of bad weather so fingers crossed we’ll be going back again soon. My family, Lewis and I got together in Manchester and celebrated my dads 65th birthday we had a lot to drink and a lovely meal in China Town.

Jumping across to March I got to meet one of my new favourite designers, Laura Jane Boast. She came to my university to help us out with a project and we discussed a lot of my ideas together she is so humble and lovely to approach and talk to. Her work is so special and intricate and she has just launched her ‘Design Giving’ magazine on Kickstarter so if any of you are interested in thoughtful design then definitely take a look at her Kickstarter page and if you feel extra lovely pledge some money to reach her target and you may get some lovely rewards in return.

March also saw me buy a super limited edition t-shirt from one of my fave illustrators/companies Death & Milk. Alex is an Illustrator from down south and he started to illustrate for t-shirts, hats, flags and bags a little while ago but I thought what better to spend my money on a t-shirt that is really limited edition and some of the proceeds go to a mental health charity.

I also had to say goodbye to one of my work friends Anita as she got a new job so that of course meant a night out in Northern Quarter, I always love nights out with my work mates as they are just super relaxed but also crazy at the same time. Whilst I was drinking away in Northern Quarter my parents had gone to Spain for 8 days and she ever so kindly brought me a few makeup bits back including Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick in Beloved and MAC Extra Dimension skin finish in Beaming Blush.

As a flat we decided to have a little night out and go to Bongo’s Bingo and yes it is Bingo and a rave combined into one. One of the funniest nights I’ve had in a long time and I was so close to winning a 6ft cuddly unicorn toy. The end of March included our Easter Break from uni so me, Lewis, Ben and Alex went go karting and yes I came last, turns out I can’t control a go kart so god help me when I try to drive a car. And to close off March I got to see one of my all time favourite bands Thirty Seconds to Mars. I’ve loved this band since I was 11 and have been dying to see them so me and my friend Anne Marie luckily got tickets so I shot straight from work to the arena and saw them in the flesh.

April saw me embark on a funky little project called “Worker Bees doing artsy things…” those illustrations are on both my Instagram accounts and this idea progressed into my final outcome for one of my modules at university. For summer I’m setting myself a side project to try and get these printed onto stationary materials, I’m trying to build up a lot of illustration material that I can print myself when I start university again and hopefully sell and make myself a bit of extra cash.

I also think I’m one of the only people in Manchester who managed to get tickets to see Arctic Monkeys in September, everyone I knew was so angry but me and Lewis are really looking forward to it! Even though the new album is a little bit of a let down I’m still very excited to see one of my all time favourite bands. April was a very design heavy month when me and Mary went to Manchester Print Fair and we had a go at letterpress printing. However I got an unexpected invite off my flat mate John to see Michael McIntyre with him at the arena so how could I say no, my god he was funny me and John had such a good night!

And to round off April, House of Fraser were having a major Blackout sale which you all probably saw advertised it was literally the most annoying ad ever but I took full advantage with my staff discount too and picked up two things from Pretty Green and a new pair of Converse which I love to death.

So now we’re in May and I had many sleepless nights towards the end of university but rounded off last week with a night out to Crazy Pedro’s, Roxy’s Ballroom and Mojo’s.

So that’s my little life update all rounded off. But the main point is that I’m back and I’ve got a lot of posts planned for the next few weeks so I hope you all stick with me and enjoy my regular content from now on!

See you soon everyone! xo
