SUMMER ESSENTIALS

Hey loves, I have a little post for you today, I thought since the weather is getting better in the UK I’ve seen myself reaching for new products and some old summer essentials, so I’ve compiled a list of all my go to’s, I hope you enjoy reading through my lil’ list, I’m trying my best to stray away from just doing tutorials and reviews, but anyway I’ll jump into it!

Especially in summer I need all the hydration I can get so pairing a good moisturiser with a hydrating primer is a perfect combo for me, so at the moment you know I’m loving the Kat Von D Lock it Primer but combining that with the Garnier Rose Water daily moisturiser gives my face so much hydration and works perfectly when I still want my full coverage on a hot day!

I’m not fabulous at cream contouring but one thing I love for summer is a cream bronzer and my go to is the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel. I’ve always been a powder gal but cream bronzer gives me an overall more bronzed and healthy appearance especially during the hotter days. I love to apply this with a damp sponge after my foundation and before powder and it just gives me a bit of dimension and the shade of this bronzer is lovely for fair to medium skin tones and easily blendable.

A liquid/cream highlighter is always a great start to getting the perfect intense glowy makeup! The two I use in my collection are the Cover FX Custom Enhancer drops and the Topshop Glow Pot. I love using these with my primer or my foundation mixture, and also on top before I powder to make my powder highlight pop further! And speaking of powder highlighters my favourite powder highlighters for summer are the Nars Dual Intensity Blush (Jubilation), Nars Albatross highlighting powder and the Sleek Solstice palette. I love highlighters with gold undertones for summer but with a bright reflect they really set my cheekbones off and I absolutely love it!

Another makeup essential for me during summer are light or metallic coloured pencil eyeliners. Wearing darker eyeliner pencils in my waterline on hot days is a recipe made for disaster they smudge and run everywhere, also on warmer days and for a fresher appearance a nude eyeliner or a metallic liner always makes the eyes look bigger and more youthful and can draw more attention to them! My favourites for this are funnily enough MAC lip liners in the shades, Nothing Sexier and Boldly Bare. I also use the lip pencil from Makeup Revolution’s metallic lip kit in the shade We Rule.

A glossy lip is always a go to during my summer. Throwing a gloss on is so easy and hassle free and it makes your lips look hydrated and juicy in the heat. My favourite glosses come from Nars and NYX. NYX Fortune cookie is a personal favourite and if you love nude lip colours get your hand on Fortune cookie Butter gloss it’s delightful! Another lovely lip product for summer are the Jouer lip toppers to add that sheen and shimmer to your lips.

My last essential is a hydrating mist! Now I don’t believe in setting sprays but I do believe in mists that hydrate your skin after makeup and make powders look less heavy and my personal favourite for this is MAC Fix Plus, it sinks into my skin beautifully and still allows me to apply makeup on top of it without creating weird marks or removing some of the makeup underneath. I love spraying my face with this between layers of powder and before highlighter to get that glow blinding!
